Around fifty locations a week apply for a liquor permit across Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan — bars, restaurants, carryouts, breweries and distributors, most of them six to twelve weeks from opening. Michigan adds a second signal: licenses approved and awaiting final inspection, which means weeks from opening, not months. Pulled from state records weekly, cleaned to one row per location, with county and venue type so you can route it to the right rep.

“Filed” is the application date where the state publishes one. Pennsylvania and Michigan do not, so their rows show the date the record first appeared in the state’s public list.

What a record looks like

One row per location. If an applicant files for several permit classes at the same address, they're combined and the classes are listed together, so a bar that applied for D-5 and D-6 shows up once.

  • New applications — someone opening a place.
  • Transfers of ownership or location — a new operator at an existing address.
  • Conditional licenses in Michigan — approved and awaiting final inspection, so the doors open in weeks.
  • Renewals, temporary event permits, and Sunday-sales add-ons are filtered out.
  • Chain-owned locations (7-Eleven, Sheetz, Kroger…) are flagged so you can include or skip them.
  • When an application leaves the pending list — usually because it was issued — it shows up in a separate "resolved" feed, which is the closest thing to an opening date the state publishes.
